The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has launched a campaign in Kilifi County aimed at sensitizing members of the public on the need to maintain peace ahead of the General Election. NCIC Commissioner Philip Okundi also revealed the commission has set up strategies to monitor and track hate speech across the country. Under the theme: ‘Uchaguzi Bila Noma”, the National Cohesion and Integration Commission launched a campaign in Kilifi County aimed at creating awareness on the need for peace before, during and after elections. During the launch, NCIC commissioner Philip Okundi revealed the commission has also improved on its strategies to tame hate speech. The campaign brought together stakeholders from different Government ministries, religious institutions, IEBC, ORPP and security officers who expressed their desire to collaborate in averting electoral violence.
