National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi says he is satisfied that the process leading to the discharged of the six Jubilee Party Members of Parliament from their respective house committees met the requirements set. The six who include Laikipia Woman Representative Cate Waruguru discharged from the Departmental Committee on Livestock where she also served as the Vice-Chairperson, William Kipkemoi, discharged from Departmental Committee on Information where he also served as the Chairperson, and Katoo ole Metito discharged from Departmental Committee on Defence are said to be allied to the Deputy president’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party. Others are Japheth Kareke Mbiuki, discharged from Departmental Committee on Environment, David Gikaria, discharged from Departmental Committee on Energy and Ali Wario, who has been discharged from the Select Committee on Regional Integration. The speaker says he has looked at the documents through which the decision was reached and as per the rules, each of the six members had been duly notified of intended discharge by the Majority Party Whip.
