David Njuguna Kiaraho, the Member of Parliament for Ol Kalou constituency, has passed away at the age of 62 while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital. His death occurred around 1:20 am on March 29, 2026, and was announced by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula.
Kiaraho had served as an MP since 2013, having been first elected during the General Elections that year. He was re-elected in 2017 and again in 2022, marking his third term in the National Assembly. Throughout his tenure, he was a member of the Departmental Committee on Transport & Infrastructure and the Procedure and House Rules Committee.
Born in 1963, Kiaraho pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Nairobi before embarking on a professional career as a principal architect at Archgrid Systems. His transition into politics began with a commitment to serve his constituents in Nyandarua County.
Speaker Wetangula expressed profound sorrow over Kiaraho’s untimely demise, stating, “It is with profound sorrow that I hereby notify Members of the National Assembly and the entire Parliamentary fraternity of the untimely demise of Member for Ol Kalou, the Late David Njuguna Kiaraho, MP who passed away today, Sunday, 29th March 2026 at around twenty minutes past 1am while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.”
Wetangula extended heartfelt condolences to Kiaraho’s family and friends, emphasizing the loss felt within the parliamentary community. A Funeral Preparation Committee has been appointed to coordinate his send-off, consisting of eight members.
