In addition, thirty-six clubs compete each season in the UEFA Europa League. Injuries and suspensions can significantly impact match outcomes in this tournament. As noted by analysts, “If a team are missing two or three key players who have received a number of yellow cards or a red card, then the suspensions could have an impact on the overall result.”
