Dr Job Obwaka died at the age of 83 on May 1, 2026. He was a veteran gynaecologist and director at Nairobi Hospital. His wife, Everose Obwaka, confirmed his death, which occurred on Friday evening at 7 pm.
Obwaka had been receiving medical care since mid-March after collapsing at the Milimani Law Courts. He faced significant health challenges following his arrest over management issues at Nairobi Hospital. He was charged with falsifying hospital records and conflict of interest.

Havi stated, “Dr Obwaka’s condition has never been the same since being taken to court, and the frustrations he has undergone until his death.” The KMPDU released a statement honoring him: “Dr. Obwaka served the medical profession in Kenya with distinction for many years. May his soul rest in peace.”
