Chelsea has reportedly finalised an agreement for Benjamin Flowers, a FC Dallas academy player, marking another significant move for the club. This follows their recent record-breaking transfer for Morgan Rogers. The agreement for Flowers is described as a ‘historic’ deal for a player of his age.
FC Dallas officially announced the signing of Benjamin Flowers to a Homegrown contract, which extends through 2030-31 with a club option for 2031-32. Flowers, who joined the FC Dallas Academy in 2021, is the youngest player to sign a professional contract with the club. He is eligible to represent both the United States and Mexico internationally.

The agreement between Chelsea and FC Dallas involves Flowers joining the Chelsea Academy when he turns 18. Reports indicate that Chelsea could pay an initial fee of around $3 million, with performance-based add-ons that could take the total deal to around $10m. These add-ons are performance-based and could be triggered before he moves to Chelsea, depending on his appearances for the American side and youth national team milestones.
Tom Bogert, an MLS expert, revealed that Chelsea pre-agreed the signing of Flowers when he turns 18. Bogert noted that Chelsea scouted Flowers with the USYNT and Dallas academy, beating several European and Mexican teams that were also interested in him. The Homegrown deal with FC Dallas and the future transfer to Chelsea were negotiated simultaneously.
Fabrizio Romano, a reporter, confirmed the news, stating that Chelsea has agreed to sign the talented winger for their academy. Romano indicated that all terms have been agreed for Flowers to join from Dallas FC as soon as he turns 18, with the player seen as one of the most talented youngsters in the USA.

Benjamin Flowers, a native of Longview, Texas, has been a prominent prospect from the FC Dallas Academy. He earned his first call-ups to train with the FC Dallas first team in 2026 and has appeared in three matches for North Texas SC in MLS NEXT Pro. His professional debut with North Texas SC as an academy player was on March 21, 2026, against Houston Dynamo 2.
At the time of his debut, Flowers became the second-youngest player to appear for North Texas SC and the 38th FC Dallas Academy player to make his MLS NEXT Pro debut. He has represented the United States at the U-15 level, receiving multiple call-ups and scoring two goals in three appearances this year.
FC Dallas President Dan Hunt expressed pride in Flowers’ signing, highlighting the club’s commitment to developing young players. André Zanotta, FC Dallas Chief Soccer Officer, described Flowers as a special talent, acknowledging his work ethic and commitment throughout his development.

In other transfer news, Alejandro Garnacho has officially completed his move to Aston Villa. This deal was confirmed by both Chelsea and Aston Villa on their respective websites. Garnacho has joined Unai Emery’s side on a loan deal that includes a conditional obligation to buy.
