Real Madrid’s Stance on Tchouameni
Manchester United has reportedly received encouraging news regarding their interest in Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni. According to one report, Real Madrid is willing to sell the France international defensive midfielder during the summer transfer window. This development comes despite earlier reports suggesting Tchouameni had agreed to a new contract with Madrid until 2031, with new manager Jose Mourinho reportedly keen on retaining him.
However, the new deal for Tchouameni has not been formally announced by Real Madrid. This has led to continued speculation linking the midfielder with a move to Old Trafford. One report indicates that Mourinho had initially planned to keep Tchouameni, but the club is now prepared to consider offers for the right fee.
United’s Midfield Ambitions
Manchester United has reportedly made enquiries about a deal for Tchouameni, who is considered a key target for the club. United’s interest is said to have intensified following the recent World Cup. The club is looking to strengthen its midfield, having already signed Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos this summer.
Despite these additions, United is still in the market for another midfielder, with Tchouameni emerging as a top target. Reports suggest that a significant sale, such as that of Tchouameni, could enable Real Madrid to pursue other transfer targets, including Manchester City midfielder Rodri.

United’s manager, Michael Carrick, is reportedly seeking a third midfield signing. If Tchouameni were to join, it would create significant competition for places in the midfield alongside Santos, Tielemans, and Kobbie Mainoo, assuming captain Bruno Fernandes continues in his role.
Other Transfer Activities and Speculation
In other transfer news, Manchester City has completed the signing of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for a fee of £116 million. Anderson has signed a five-year deal with City until 2031. United had also shown interest in Anderson but ultimately signed Santos and Tielemans instead.
Meanwhile, Alejandro Garnacho has moved to Aston Villa on an initial loan deal. Villa will be required to sign Garnacho for £42.5 million if certain conditions are met. United is set to benefit from a 10 per cent sell-on clause included in the deal, as Garnacho previously moved from United to Chelsea for £40 million.

United is also reportedly in a transfer race with Chelsea for Fenerbahce‘s Archie Brown. Both clubs are said to be following the 24-year-old English left-back. Fenerbahce is reportedly keen to keep the player, and a sell-on clause is desired in any potential deal.
Additionally, Carlos Baleba is another midfielder reportedly being considered by United. The club has shown long-term admiration for the player, and there has been movement to reignite their interest. However, a compromise on the price would be necessary for any deal to proceed. Casemiro has also left Real Madrid on a free transfer to Inter Miami.

Despite ongoing speculation, Fabrizio Romano stated on Wednesday that Tchouameni is expected to remain at Real Madrid. Romano indicated that Tchouameni has already signed a new contract with Real Madrid, with Mourinho reportedly pushing to keep him at the club.
