Manu Bhaker is determined to reignite her competitive spark after a quiet spell following her Olympic success. The 24-year-old shooter won two bronze medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Bhaker secured a silver medal in the 10 metre air pistol World Cup last year. She also earned another silver in the 25 metre pistol event at the Asian Championships in New Delhi this year.

The qualification cycle for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics has begun. Bhaker expressed confidence in her preparations, stating, “I feel we have all the things sorted and hopefully we will do very well.”

Shooting will return to the programme at the 2030 Commonwealth Games in India. Bhaker noted, “It is sad that it was not part of the CWG curriculum for two successive editions, but at the same time I am also looking forward to the 2030 Games.”

Since her Olympic success, she has developed a deeper spiritual outlook. This change may influence her approach as she competes in future events.

Next month, she will compete at the ISSF World Cup in Munich. Observers expect her to perform strongly as she aims for Olympic qualification.

Age should never be a limitation if talent and guidance are in place, according to Bhaker. Her recent performances suggest she is ready to reclaim her status among elite shooters.
